RPG game The Sims now on Facebook
With the increasing popularity of Facebook, one of the largest game publisher Electronic Arts had decided to launch the Facebook version of it’s most popular Role Playing Game ‘The Sims‘. This announcement from EA comes at the Video Game Industry’s Annual Conference also known Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Electronic Arts (EA) must have been inspired by the explosive growth of it’s competitor Zynga Inc. whose games are experiencing a great response from the community at Facebook. The Ville series from Zynga Inc. had really made a huge contribution to Facebook’s success. The huge growth of Ville series will now force other biggies like EA, UBI, Activision etc. to develop the so called social games.
EA had already accepted this fact that most of the growth will be witnessed by this social gaming sector in the near future and also said that nearly 2 billion dollars are aready being spend on the development of these games.
The Facebook version of Sims is already in the development stage from past one year and will be launched soon in the near future. EA is expecting to generate revenue from micro transactions that will take place in the game.
