Well, you will have to agree with this statement that Samsung was the very first company to launch the large display based smartphones also popularly known as Phablets. The term Phablet is basically the combination of two words that is Phone and Tablet. Normally these phablets are priced around Rs. 30k bracket but for the first time ever Samsung is going to launch the cheapest Phablet in the world that is Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos.
Samsung Galaxy Grand is presently listed for pre order at various online stores like Flipkart at an attractive price of just Rs. 21,500. Although I have to agree that there are some extremely cheap phablets from few Indian companies like Micromax and Karbon but truly speaking their built quality is pathetic. There are numerous complaints of damaged capacitive screen and motherboards for high end Micromax smartphones.
Specs wise Samsung Galaxy Grand boasts a powerful 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor which can easily run any modern game available on the Google Play Store. RAM is 1 GB as usual.
Not only this, the main attraction point for this smartphone is its display size which is massive at 5 inches. The display is based on WVGA technology and supports a maximum resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Supported colors by the display stands at 16 million as usual.
There are two cameras in Galaxy Grand. The primary one is 8 MP which is capable of recording 1080P full HD videos and supports a zoom up to 4X. LED flash is also present. The secondary camera is just 2MP but still it is better than VGA.
In battery department, Galaxy Grand boasts a 2100 mAh battery which is expected to give up to 10 hours of active talk time on 3G network and 440 hours of standby time.
Samsung Galaxy Grand is pre loaded with the latest Android operating system that is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Samsung customized TouchWiz 4.0 interface. You must also know that Samsung Galaxy Grand is dual SIM smartphone and has a SAR value of 0.316 w/kg at head.
The main competitor to this smartphone is Xperia P but I have to agree that Galaxy Grand blows Xperia P out of water as far as specs are concerned.
