In the latest move from Apple, Indians can now buy content from the iTunes store. This means that all the Apple fans and loyal owners of devices like iPad, iPod and iPhone who are waiting for this service to be opened for Indian from ages, can now buy movies and songs directly from the iTunes store by paying in local currency.
Paying in local currency has its own benefits. This includes that you do not have to pay forex exchange charges to your bank which are usually 3 to 3.5 % of the transaction. iTunes service form Apple is now available in 119 countries across the globe. In iTunes store as per the latest data there are approximately 20 million songs to choose from.
Apple iTunes store is definitely one of the biggest online music store on the world wide web. In India iTunes will face stiff competition from Flipkart’s online music store Flyte and also from Nokia’s Music Store which claims that it serving more then 1.4 million songs download everyday.
As far as pricing is concerned, a single song will cost around Rs. 12 to download. A full album of a Bollywood movie will be priced depending on the fact that how many songs are there in it and multiply it with Rs. 12.
One can also download movies from iTunes. A normal HD version of Ek Tha Tiger will cost around Rs, 490. On the other hand the SD version of the same movie is priced around Rs. 290. Users can also rent movies from iTunes.
