Just few days after the much hyped launch of the latest iPad mini by Apple, Google reveals the all new Nexus smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet on Monday. The launch of the new Nexus 10 tablet by Google directly indicates at the rivalry going among Google, Microsoft and Apple. All these companies have launched their respective tablets within the span of 1 week.
Now let us come to the all new Google Nexus devices which were just revealed by Google. The first device is a Nexus 4 smartphone.
Nexus 4 Smartphone
The original manufacturer for this new Nexus smartphone is LG instead of Samsung. It is definitely one of the worlds fastest smartphone as it is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon S4 chip which is clocked at 1.5 GHz. It also includes one of the fastest smartphone GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) till date that is Adreno 320. Nexus 4 will be running the latest version of the Android operating system that is Android 4.2 JellyBean.
The new Nexus 4 boasts a large 4.7 inch display with IPS panel and a resolution of 1280 X 768. Primary Camera is 8 MP and secondary one is 1.3 MP only. To speed up the things, the new Nexus 4 comes with 2 GB of RAM. It will come in two variants which will be differentiated on the basis of Memory capacity. These variants will be 8 GB and 16 GB. There will no slot for the memory expansion via micro SD card.
The Nexus 4 will not support the 4G technology that is LTE which enable users to enjoy high speed data connection. This is definitely a big negative point for this new device. As far as build quality is concerned, the back cover of Nexus 4 is made of Glass which makes it prone to easy damage.
As far as availability is concerned it will initially be available only in USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Australia on 13th November, 2012. There is no indication on the expected launch date of Nexus 4 in India. There may be a situation that this new device is not at all launched in India.
Unlocked Nexus 4 8GB variant is priced at 299$ and the one with the 16 GB is priced at 349$.
Nexus 10 Tablet
As the name suggests this new Nexus tablet from Google boasts a superb 10 inch display which is 3 inch bigger than the original Nexus tablet. Display is definitely one the main feature of Nexus 10. With a resolution of massive 2560 X 1600 (Pixels) it easily beats the new iPad 4G whose Retina display comes with a resolution of 2048 X 1536 (Pixels). Not only in terms of resolution, Nexus 10 beats iPad 4G in Pixels Per Inch department (PPI) also.
Now let us come under the hood of Nexus 10. It is powered by an Exynos 5250 chipset which has a dual core CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz and a MALI T604 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). It also have 2 GB of RAM, Primary Camera of 5 MP and 1.9 MP secondary camera.
Connectivity options are limited to Wi-Fi only. Presently there is no option for the cellular version of Nexus 10. The Nexus 10 is presently priced at just 399$ which is quite low as compared to 499$ price tag of IPad 4G. It will also be running Android JellyBean as its operating system.
