RPG game The Sims now on Facebook

With the increasing popularity of Facebook, one of the largest game publisher Electronic Arts had decided to  launch the Facebook version of it’s most popular Role Playing Game ‘The Sims‘. This announcement from EA comes at the Video Game Industry’s Annual Conference also known Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

Electronic Arts (EA) must have been inspired by the explosive growth of it’s competitor Zynga Inc. whose  games are experiencing a great response from the community at Facebook. The Ville series from Zynga Inc. had really made a huge contribution to Facebook’s success. The huge growth of Ville series will now force other biggies like EA, UBI, Activision etc. to develop the so called social games.

EA had already accepted this fact that most of the growth will be witnessed by this social gaming sector in the near future and also said that nearly 2 billion dollars are aready being spend on the development of these games.

The Facebook version of Sims is already in the development stage from past one year and will be launched soon in the near future. EA is expecting to generate revenue from micro transactions that will take place in the game.

Apple launches iCloud service

Apple on 6th June, 2011 at Apple Worldwide Developer Conference launched the much awaited cloud based service called iCloud, which will let you to store and stream different media across compatible Apple devices. Apple had also purchased the domain iCloud.com for 4.5 million dollar specifically  for this service.

iCloud will basically let you to store up to 5 GB of media files on the Apple server’s but there is limitation also. The limitation is this that you will not be able to stream the media files on the internet. This fact will disappoint many users as they were expecting this feature to be present in the iCloud service. Exact reason for the absence of streaming service is not given by the officials yet.

Though you can’t stream but you would be able to sync your files to any apple device that you have provided that the devices using the same account.

Apple iCloud will help people in understanding the Cloud storage and Software As A Service commonly abbreviated as SAAS. Sooner or later Google will also follow this cloud race  but till than enjoy iCloud!

GOOGLEPLUSONE.COM, a trademark infringed domain now with Google

Google had recently won the dispute of the domain GOOGLEPLUSONE.COM. The original  registrant had registered this domain in 2008. The domain in question is very much similar to the social product recently launched by Google named Google +1 Button. The dispute was filed on 2nd may, 2011 by Google Inc. against the original registrant Seshchand Alturi.

The all new +1 button from Google

Recently Google had officially reveled the much awaited competitor to Facebook’s Like Button known as +1Button. You can easily put the +1 button to your site following the instructions here. As Facebook’s Like Button is already popular among webmasters so Google is giving Higher Page Ranking  as a incentive to attract these webmasters.

The +1 Button is believed to be integrated into the Google search and ranking of the pages will be affected depending on the number of clicks the +1 button on a particular page will receive.

It is much easier to install a +1 button on your site as compared to Facebooks’s Like Button. This will also effect the popularity of Facebook’s Like Button.
