Bob Parsons sold Godaddy to a private equity firm

Godaddy the world’s largest registrar and web host by number of domains manged had been in process of selling from the past few weeks. Ultimately after endless talks, a private equity firm KKR, Silver Lake and Technology Crossover Ventures made a deal of purchasing Godaddy for 2.25 billion$.

The new owners are expecting to make 1.1 billion dollar in revenue this year as the Internet is getting bigger as times passes. More and more websites are getting added to this web world and the most basic part of a website is the “DOMAIN”.

Godaddy group was founded by Bob Parsons in 1997 who will continue to serve as it’s CEO. The company is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and manages more than 48 million domainsĀ  and also is one of the worlds largest web host.

Godaddy is famous for it’s coupon codes which helps many domainers and webmasters to get domains at a very cheap prices as compared to other registrars like Network Solutions aka NETSOL. Not only this Godaddy also have a special auction wing which is used by many professional domainers worldwide to sell their domains. Their expired domain auctions are one of the best where you can pick a aged domain at prices much lower than the original renewal cost.

Nokia to make a comeback with N9

Nokia at a event in Singapore announce the launch of the all new Nokia N9, a MeeGo based smart phone. N9 will be the latest mobile phone of the N series. Previous N series mobile N8 was a huge success because of the multimedia features it provides like a 12MP camera with Xenon Flash. The major difference between Nokia N8 and N9 are listed below:

  1. Nokia N9 is a fully touch phone means it will not have single button on it’s entire body.
  2. Nokia N9 is powered by a Linux based MeeGo operating system which is much better than Symbian.
  3. Nokia N9 will feature a less powerful camera than N8. It will be equipped with a 8MP camera and a LED flash.

According to me the major difference is the MeeGo OS. MeeGo is definitely much better than Symbian in terms of interface and functionality. A particular feature of this phone known as swipe is the most interesting one (You can see this in the video.)

As far as design is concerned Nokia N9 is crafted from a single Polycarbonate piece. This Polycarbonate material is actually helps the phone in getting a good signal quality and less call drops (Nokia claims).

Nokia N9 specifications are listed below in a image:

Reliance Broadband is the worst broadband I’ve ever had

My suggestion would be to never ever go for Reliance Broadband (especially for the residents of Punjab). They don’t have metro like quality here. There entire staff is incompetent and know nothing about basic terms like ping. The have overloaded servers in the regions with worst routing to Asian and European servers.

If you are a gamer from this region than stay away from this Sh#$*y broadband. My suggestion would be to go with Airtel. They have better quality fiber and line in Punjab region.

My experience with Reliance is the worst. Here i am attaching some of the screen shots from speedtest.net.

Please don’t tell me any suggestions to reduce my ping. I have tried each and every solution but to no avail. This is because the entire problem is in their core system and they are too busy too correct that.

Reliance Broadband sucks
Reliance Broadband sucks

Please don’t laugh at me!! I know 687 is a high ping but i can’t do any thing to lower it down. You can look at this post for video demonstration of the lag caused by Reliance Broadband in Battlefield Bad Company 2.

At last you will be asking me that why i am still using their broadband? The answer is plain and simple : I don’t have the option of other ISP in my locality. šŸ™
