A quick search at Flipkart reveals that presently there are 4 smartphone models available in India that come pre loaded with latest Windows Mobile OS i.e. Windows Phone 7. One each from Samsung and HTC and two from Nokia. There mobile models are mentioned below:

Lumia 800 have a slight edge over others but at such a high price it nearly nullifies the positive side of having a 8 MP camera and HTC Radar also flops miserably in this department because at such a high price we really want something special form HTC. On the other hand Samsung Omnia W features a secondary camera at such a low price compared to others and it also got a decent primary camera rivalling HTC Radar. So this category is also won be Samsung Omnia W.

Nokia Lumia 800 gets a price cut

Nokia’s presently flagship windows based smartphone Nokia Lumia 800 gets a price cut of about Rs. 6,500. Most of the online shopping sites have updated the price of Lumia 800. At flipkart it is retailing at Rs. 23,590 which is almost 21% less than it’s original price of Rs. 29,999. This price cut definitely indicates that Lumia 800 failed to attract consumers.

Lumia 800 from Nokia is the second windows based smartphone from Nokia after Lumia 710. Initially the price difference between these two phones if about Rs. 15,000 which is quite exorbitant after taking into facts that there are hardly any extra features in Lumia 800 which can make it an attractive option. At Rs. 30,000 there are plethora of options available in the form Android smartphones like mighty Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note. This thing forces Nokia to reduce the price of their flagship Nokia Lumia 800.

Even at this price range Lumia 800 will not be popular among the general consumers as there are other better Android options available in the market right now in form Galaxy S Plus. If some one really wants a Windows phone than he/she can purchase Samsung Omnia W for Rs. 15,200 at flipkart which is Rs.8,390 cheaper than Lumia 800.

If we compare Lumia 800 with Samsung Omni W than the factors where Lumia emerges as a winner are inbuilt storage (16GB in Lumia vs. 8GB in Omnia W) and primary camera (8MP in Lumia vs. 5MP in Omnia W). If we look at the another side than Omnia W also beats Lumia 800 in features like presence of Secondary Camera in Omnia W but nothing in Lumia 800.

Windows Phone 7 on the whole lacks some crucial features such as Bluetooth support.

Nokia 808, a 41 mega pixel smartphone from Nokia

Nokia had recently announced a 41 mega pixel camera phone at Mobile World Congress held at Barcelona. Nokia have taken the mega pixel war to a whole new level with the news of the upcoming 808 Pure View, though not all companies are interested in participating in mega pixel competition. This phone have also won Best New Device Of The Year at MWC, 2012. Some of the specifications of 808 are listed below:

How to have a grid layout when extracting data from MYSQL instead of linear layout?

I really want to have this functionality in my upcoming site but as you know i had just learnt PHP and MYSQL, so that’s why i am not a perfect at handling problems related to PHP. As per the regular tutorial available on the internet one can extract data from MYSQL in a linear way but i want to extract in a grid fashion. For this i googled it but haven’t got any meaningful result.

For this use the following code for extraction:

There is only one flaw in the above program that it violates the conditions of the HTML 5 standard which requires all the html tags to be closed with proper closing tags but it cannot be done here. If you have any better solution than please share with us in the comments below.

Samsung Galaxy R now out of stock at almost all retail outlets and online shopping sites

Samsung Galaxy R is definitely one of the best Rs. 20,000 range in the Indian market right now. It is one of the two Dual Core smart phones available in that range, thought the chipset on both the phones is same. The other one is LG Optimus 2X. LG is not a favorite option among many Indians and hence it resale value is much lower as compared to brands like Nokia and Samsung.

In spite of the fact that Galaxy R boasts a 1GHz Dual Core processor and is doing well with the sales, Samsung decided to put a stop on the production of such a good smart phone. Initially it was launched at a price of Rs. 27,000 which results in the decreasing popularity of Galaxy R. As a result Samsung perform a series of price cuts and than ultimately getting stable at Rs. 20,999. Some of the online web sites like Sulekha priced Galaxy R at Rs. 18,000 before it was shit down by Samsung. After shut down the online retailer like LetsBuy raise the price of the few remaining pieces to Rs. 23,000 i.e. Rs. 2,000 black. But still at that price it was a steal.

Now it is out of stock at LetsBuy also. If you still want a Dual Core phone and don’t want to go for Galaxy S2 than look for some second hand Galaxy R.
