For most of the part we always know that Samsung never launches their flagship smartphones with Qualcomm SoC in India. Every time they will go with their in house SoC called Exynos. Exynos like Qualcomm is based on ARM architecture only. But there is a considerable difference between the implementation of both these SoC’s. There are only four major Android SoC providers in the world namely Samsung, Qualcomm, Huawei and Mediatek.
On a benchmark aggregator website Geekbench there is an indication towards a new Sony Smartphone codenamed H8526. The interesting thing about this is the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Currently the leading SoC from Qualcomm is Snapdragon 845 which is present in most of the current flagships from various smartphone makers such as Samsung Galaxy S9, Asus ZenFone 5z and One Plus 6.
Snapdragon 855 will be fabricated using 7nm technology and Qualcomm would be the first company to utilize it. There were some rumors that Qualcomm will go with TSMC foundry for the fabrication of 855 chip but nevertheless it will be solid chip. Because of the use of 7nm technology the Snapdragon 855 SoC is believed to come with a X24 modem which supports data transfer speed up to 2 Gbps.
Sony H8526 is rumored to be Xperia XZ3 and is expected to be launched in August this year. But the main problem is will Qualcomm be ready for mass production of 855 chips by then.
