Want to use your iPhone as a universal remote control?

Yes it’s true. Now it is possible to turn your iPhone into a Remote Control. This technique is invented by a small company named “PEEL” that can turn your iPhone into a universal remote control just like Logitech Harmony but at a fraction of price.

This technique uses a Pear sized wireless IR blaster instead of a IR dongle which is needed to be attached to your iPhone thus giving much less hassle. This pear sized blaster can be easily placed on your central table etc.

Working is actually based on the fact that this blaster connects over zigbee to a tiny network adapter which in turn is connected to an open Ethernet port on your Wi-Fi router. This setup reduces the power consumption by many folds and enables blaster to run for a period of 9 months on a single battery
