LCD or LED based televisions are definitely one of the most important milestone in the history of television. They consume much less power as compared to ageing CRTs and not only this, LCD or LED television usually supports higher resolutions in the order of 1080p which is not supported by CRTs.
LCD or LED panels usually have very long life spans as compared to CRTs and encounter much less problems as compared to CRT screens.
Here in this article i want to share with you one very common type of problem which you can also face with your LCD TV in the near future. The problem is that your LCD screen will start showing horizontal stripes which will be moving upwards randomly. If there is no particular colour associated with these stripes then there can be some easy solutions for this problem. But in case if you are seeing colour stripes then there can be some serious problems like LCD burning or LCD cracking.
So the solution for the problem of colourless strips can be of two type:
- First one is to check the Set Top Box. Most of the time problem is in this device only. Check your TV with some other Set Top Box and if it runs perfectly then problem is with your Set Top Box only and get it replaced from your cable or DTH company
- Some times there can be problems in the AC(Alternating Current) signal powering your LCD or LED TV. This irregular nature of AC can also cause distortion in the TV signal. The only solution to this problem is to try changing the power socket in which your LED or LCD TV is plugged. Hope this will help you in saving few bucks.
