As per my latest conversation with Reliance customer care, they are not providing telephone sets with new connections of combo plans. The customer has to make arrangement themselves for the set.
This move from reliance will give their prospective customers another chance before finalizing their bond with Reliance. Just few months back Reliance had implemented advance monthly rental for all broadband plans for all of their customers (new and old both).
WI5 is predominately a South Indian based ISP providing it’s services in many regions of Southern India including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. Now they have have decided to launch their services in Northern India with Punjab as theuir starting point. The cities in which they are providing services in Punjab are listed below:
Presently in Punjab they are providing only WiFi based connections. They also have cable broadband service plans which i think are available only in Southern India as for now. Their cable broadband looks definitely promising though we are not sure about it’s quality and other factors. Their cable and WiFi broadband plans are listed below:
I think this question is present in the mind of every broadband users that why ISP put restriction on the data transfer in almost every plan they offer. There is always a large pool of bandwidth available to these ISP at any time but in case they offer true unlimited plans than this will abused by many users through out India.
The main reasons for implementing a fair usage policy are listed below:-
Believe me or not, India is one of the largest piracy hub of the world. Though there are laws to stop and curb piracy but they are not effective enough to stop this menace. People in India usually abuse their broadband service to download large amount of data which include movies, games and music. Not only this, Indians also feel proud to say that they have downloaded this 100 GB of data in this month.
As a example i will refer to this site broadbandforum<.>in (remove ankle brackets). In this site you will see a lot of people sharing how many GB’s of data they have downloaded in a particular month.
So it is clearly a network abuse. You congesting a network and hamper the service of other users by taking large chunks of bandwidth for yourself. Not only this, there are many people out there who keep their computer ON for 24 x 7 and download heavy HD stuff and at the end of the month they are proud to say that they have downloaded large amount of HD stuff.
This practice of downloading heavy piracy data hamper the service of other users to a much greater extent. Many users use broadband service to watch YouTube videos, browse websites or to play multiplayer games. But their experience gets ruined by these downloaders and pirates.
I use my broadband connection mainly to play online games bu not even a single time my ping reaches two digit. This is so pathetic but i can’t do any thing . Due to network wide abuse, ping to even local servers reaches sky high.
So all those people on various forums who are asking and abusing ISP for not providing true unlimited plans should blame themselves for this situation.
Well accept it or not Australian Government is really doing a great favor to their citizens by upgrading their entire network of Copper cables with optical fiber. This means that the you will get your internet on a optical fiber network expanded up to your home. That would be great indeed.Isn’t it?
But this thing will not come cheap. Australian government is investing nearly 38 billion dollar in spreading the optical fiber which will lit up the countries broadband future. They have realized that quality broadband service is key factor in over all growth of the country.
But here comes India, a country filled with corruption and poor quality copper! The TRAI as promised didn’t change the definition of broadband till now. This directly indicates that they are earning tons of money from these private telecom players like Airtel etc. The TRAI had recently suggested a National Broadband Plan which will solve the countries last mile problem. but there is no note on when will it be executed?
FTTH (Fiber to the X. Here X is home.) service started by BSNL is ridiculously expensive. It is kept at that price so that no one will be able to buy it. That’s really pathetic of a state run behemoth. Indian broadband instead of growing is getting plunged into the darkness from where there is no way out.

India’s most popular online retailer Flipkart.com had recently listed XFX AMD Radeon HD 7970 for sale at quite a high price tag of Rs. 40280. Though the brand available is not the best one as far as India is concerned.
At the same price or even less one can buy AMD 6990, a dual chip card which can easily beat 7970. Though power consumption can be a problem for 6990. Here i am pasting the screenshots of the comparison between 7970 an 6990.
