It may be a bit old news for some the tech geeks out there but i still want to share it with other UB7 readers who don’t know about the launch of this versatile and feature rich smartphone Canvas 2 A110 from Micromax. This is definitely one of the best smartphone from Micromax till date as its features are comparable to some ultra high end smartphones like Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3.
The all new Canvas 2 A110 features a bright, high resolution 5 inch IPS LCD display. The smartphones with 5 inch display size is still a very rare thing in the huge Indian mobile market as they are usually priced above Rs. 30,000 bracket. After the launch of the Canvas 2 A110 most of the common people can also afford 5 inch smartphones. This size may be inappropriate for some people but in case if you are comfortable with it then this is the best 5 inch smartphone available in the Indian market today. Screen size is one of the most striking feature of this phone and people like it because of that only.
Other hardware specs includes 1GHz Dual Core processor and 512 MB of RAM. RAM is definitely on the lower side but what can you expect at just Rs. 10,000. It comes preloaded with Android ICS 4.0.4 operating system.
The ICS version loaded in Canvas 2 A110 is the original version from Google with little to no modification by Micromax at all.
It also comes with a 8 MP primary camera with dual LED flash and VGA based secondary camera. Most of the end users reported that the performance of the camera during Night time is not up to the mark in spite of the fact fact that it dual LED flash at work.
Another feature of this smartphone is that it is a Dual SIM phone. Both the SIMS can be on simultaneously. This is definitely a cool feature which is absent in high end smartphones like Galaxy Note 2.
In design department, Micromax Canvas 2 A110 is heavily inspired from Galaxy S3. The back cover features a textured surface instead of the glossy surface present in Galaxy S3. There is no screen protection in Canvas 2 A110.
The battery back up, as reported by some of the end users, is a good one. It comes with a 2000 mAh battery which claims to give 5 Hours of talk time on the 2G and 180 Hours of Standby time.
And lastly “Google Play Store” app is pre loaded in this smartphone and one can download apps from the Android app marketplace without any compatibility problem. I am mentioning this because most of the low end Android smartphones does not feature Google Play store and thus cannot download from the app marketplace.
